Located in the Middle East, Jordan is rich in culture and history. In comparison to the surrounding countries, Jordan is a haven of rest and peace, a tribute to the nature of the Jordanian people and strong governance. Operation Mercy works amongst rural communities providing physiotherapy programs for disabled children, youth sport programs, English education, income generating training, and the management of a successful family centre.

Operation Mercy has been distributing aid to Syrians and others seeking refuge in Jordan in partnership with a local organizations. We are providing displaced families with basic immediate needs including food, hygiene kits, clothing, and medical services. Through income generating projects and livelihood-focused training, we are also helping them with their next steps towards stability.
Operation Mercy's goal is to see rural communities welcoming their own members with disabilities, and becoming a more inclusive society. On the family level, we train mothers and other caretakers to provide rehabilitation training themselves, so that those with disabilities can have greater mobility and independence. On the community level, we grow the capacity and awareness of schools and other public services to fulfill their duty of having "open doors" for children with disabilities.
The Agricultural Cooperation for Development (AC4D) program enhances food security throughout Jordan by helping small farmers to raise their income and reduce the negative environmental impacts on farmland. This is carried out through aggressive extension efforts centered around our trial and development facilities located in the Jordan Valley.
The UNESCO World Heritage site of Wadi Rum, situated in southern Jordan and featuring a varied desert landscape with narrow gorges, natural arches, and towering cliffs, is the site of our Rum Integrated Rural Development Project. Focused on developing eco- and adventure tourism as well as the empowerment of women through home business initiatives, the scope of this project currently includes oversight of the Rum Climbing and Mountaineering Club and working with Shabab Sahra, the newly registered Bedouin Young Adults Association (YAA), whose remit is business development and environmental management. Our aim is to actualize hopes, develop capacity and create community among tomorrow's family units in Wadi Rum.
