Operation Mercy has worked predominantly amongst Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) since 1999 in the areas of dental care and education. Proudly, these programs continue today with new projects developing in health screening and care.

...where the dentist comes to you! We provide a mobile dentist to operate in several regions, checking and treating school children in IDP communities, as well as teaching dental hygiene. The dentist travels regularly to different schools with his portable equipment powered by a generator.

Resourcing and equipping local teachers is a strategic way to help educate the next generation of students. With a strong desire to improve the level of English spoken in their school, teachers are meeting regularly with our field staff to share teaching resources and methodology. Additional tuition is also given to the most promising English learning students.

Community Development Program
This project addresses the felt physical needs of Internally Displaced Person (internal refugee) communities through initiatives that improve their living environments such as water and sanitation stations, community gardens, playgrounds, and other building and remodelling projects.

The English Teacher Development programme will provide Professional Skills Development Training workshops for IDP English teachers. This training will develop professional skills in the area of current and varied teaching practices and is aimed at providing inspiration to teachers to implement a quality education to their students.
