Iran
Khosh amadin – Welcome! Hospitality has been an integral part of the Iranian culture for centuries. Operation Mercy began working in Qazvin, Iran, in response to an earthquake disaster in 2002. Since that time Iran has welcomed Operation Mercy’s development and relief projects. Today we work amongst disadvantaged young people in Tehran developing life skills.
We provide training for approximately 40 local NGO’s in leadership and management skills. This improves management of local projects to more effectively serve the people in Iran. Training topics include; financial management, leadership and management, project design and project development.

Operation Mercy educates and empowers disadvantaged Afghan refugees, especially mothers and young women. We currently educate 800 mothers and young women who are refugees from Afghanistan, by providing courses in English, computers, sports training and skills training. We provide special weekly and monthly seminars and workshops on critical issues related to building relevant life skills. Equipping these women enables them to have a better, more positive and stable future.
