He lived in Afghanistan from 2006-2008 and has been to many countries of Europe over the Middle East to South East Asia for shorter and longer assignments. In 2009 he started embracing the DSLR video cameras and is since then passionately shooting with the Canon 5d Mark II and the Canon 7d. While not being on assignment he is studying Oriental studies and comparative literature at the Ruhr Universität in Bochum.
